Having a Clean Eating Holiday Season

It happens every December. We struggle to keep our healthy eating habits as our lives get busier, holiday parties are plentiful and we’re bombarded with gifts of sweet treats. Well,  don’t blow all that hard work in one crazy month! We have some tips to help you eat clean all through the holidays.

  1. Prepare and pack healthy snacks for when you are busy and on the go. Air popped popcorn, chopped veggies and hummus, low sugar granola and fruit are all great options.
  2. Eat a little something healthy before you head to that holiday party. Make a small salad or a bowl of oatmeal so you don’t show up famished and eat large portions of indulgent holiday food.
  3. Freeze sweet treats that are gifted to you or share them with others. Again, it’s all about portion control and limiting temptation.

The holidays are a time to enjoy, visit with friends and family and even indulge a little. Just have a plan in place and you will be able to stay on your healthy course right into New Year Resolution time!
