Skin Health From The Inside Out

Summer is in full swing and along with an increase in temperature is an increase in skin exposure. Skin is the largest organ in our body so protecting it and keeping it in optimal condition is important for our health. Recently, studies have begun to surface connecting diet to skin health and beauty. Just as poor nutrition is damaging to our general health, conditions such as premature aging, eczema and acne can also be influenced by diet. Fortunately, we can counteract a lot of this damage by building healthy skin from the inside out. Below are a few tips for a beautiful and healthy complexion all season long.

-AVOID EXCESS SUGAR. We know that we sound like a broken record when it comes to being anti-sugar but the sweet stuff has been linked to wrinkles, breakouts and even cellulite.
-STAY HYDRATED. Often we forget how important water is for our bodies. Drink it often, filtered whenever possible, for a plump and glowing complexion.
-EAT THE RAINBOW OF PRODUCE. Optimizing your phytochemical intake is a great way to maintain skin health. The different pigments provide a variety of nutrients that the skin needs for optimal health.
-MOISTURIZE NATURALLY. Forget expensive chemicals and go as all natural (and organic whenever possible) when it comes to your skin care. Coconut oil, aloe, honey and avocado are all easy to buy items that are wonderful for your skin to drink in. For more on these and other natural skin care items follow the link:
